Reliability analysis based on losses from failure Modelling

چکیده
As the cost of software application failures grows and as these failures increasingly impact business performance, software reliability will become progressively more important. Employing effective software reliability engineering techniques to improve product and process reliability would be the industry’s best interests as well as major challenges. As software complexity and software quality are highly related to software reliability, the measurements of software complexity and quality attributes have been explored for early prediction of software reliability. Static as well as dynamic program complexity measurements have been collected, such as lines of code, number of operators, relative program complexity, functional complexity, operational complexity, and so on. The complexity metrics can be further included in software reliability models for early reliability prediction, for example, to predict the initial software fault density and failure rate. Keywords— Effective software reliability, Software complexity, Software quality, Fault density, Failure rate.

Numerical modelling of the underground roadways in coal mines– uncertainties caused by use of empirical-based downgrading methods and in situ stresses
Numerical modelling techniques are not new for mining industry and civil engineering projects anymore. These techniques have been widely used for rock engineering problems such as stability analysis and support design of roadways and tunnels, caving and subsidence prediction, and stability analysis of rock slopes. Despite the significant advancement in the computational mechanics and availabili...
متن کاملMOCA ARM: Analog Reliability Measurement based on Monte Carlo Analysis
Due to the expected increase of defects in circuits based on deep submicron technologies, reliability has become an important design criterion. Although different approaches have been developed to estimate reliability in digital circuits and some measuring concepts have been separately presented to reveal the quality of analog circuit reliability in the literature, there is a gap to estimate re...
متن کاملDetermination of the Height and Overtopping failure of Reservoir Dams by Using Reliability Analysis (Case Study: Namrood Dam)
Generally, the design of dams and other hydraulic structures is carried out based on deterministic approaches. However, there are many uncertainties in the estimation of different effective parameters in hydraulic structures design. The inherent uncertainties in these parameters necessitate reliability analysis to ensure the structure stability. In this study, after investigating various uncert...
متن کاملStress-Strength and Ageing Intensity Analysis via a New Bivariate Negative Gompertz-Makeham Model
In Demography and modelling mortality (or failure) data the univariate Makeham-Gompertz is well-known for its extension of exponential distribution. Here, a bivariate class of Gompertz--Makeham distribution is constructed based on random number of extremal events. Some reliability properties such as ageing intensity, stress-strength based on competing risks are given. Also dependence properties...
متن کاملReliability analysis of rubble-mound breakwaters against the failure due to the armor layer instability based on the fuzzy random variables theory: A case study of Anzali Port breakwater
Breakwaters are among the most frequently-used coastal protective structures and their stability is vital to avoid turbulence at the ports. The main purpose of the present research is to use the theory of fuzzy random variables and the second-order reliability method (SORM) to study the reliability of a rubble-mound breakwater against the failure due to the armor layer instability. The limit-st...
